and more.

Services designed to meet the needs of our community.

INTEGRATED LISTENING SYSTEMS (iLs)

Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) builds a solid foundation for learning and communicating through repeated, gentle stimulation. The listening treatment is also aimed at the sensory level involving an individual’s self-regulation and adaptation to the external world. The consequences of a disorganized central nervous system are developmental lags, behavioral, emotional and learning issues. Learn more about it on our blog.

AUTISM SPEECH THERAPY

Speech therapy can help people with autism improve their verbal, nonverbal, and social communication skills. Some individuals on the autism spectrum are not able to speak, while others love to talk, but have difficulty holding a conversation or understanding body language and facial expressions when talking with others. The goal is to help the patient communicate in more useful and functional ways.

english • Spanish • FRENCH

Being trilingual allows Gina to communicate in the language the patient is most comfortable in and achieve higher success rates. About 2% of certified SLPs in the United States are bilingual in Spanish. Gina conducts screenings, evaluations, and therapy throughout Florida via virtual therapy sessions which she started before the pandemic in an effort to help those in multicultural communities.

medicaid and private insurance

When working with South Florida Speech Solutions you can rest assured that your loved one will be taken care of by a respectable and experienced SLP (Speech Language Pathologist), while also having payment options to cover their treatment. Gina works with various private insurance companies, as well as Medicaid (patients must qualify). Please contact us for more information.

FEEDING AND SWALLOW THERAPY

Feeding and swallow therapy encompasses oral-motor problems and sensory aversions. Oral-motor problems focus on the movement and coordination of the muscles used when eating. Sensory aversions are over-reactions to certain textures, tastes, smells or temperatures. Some medical feeding problems may result from a larger diagnosis such as long term G-tube placement or a neurological issue like Rett Syndrome.

DOWN SYNDROME SPEECH THERAPY

Speech therapy can help with the child's verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as with their language and cognitive development. Therapy may include exercises to help strengthen muscle tone and coordination in the mouth area, exercises to improve speech production or strategies to support language development. Speech Therapy for Children

As a wife and mother of two, Gina understands the challenges and joy that come with parenthood. She has dedicated most of her career to helping parents identify and treat their child’s speech disorders. From developmental delays, such as speech and language development, phonological disorders, articulation disorders, stuttering, tongue tied, sensory processing, speech delay, and even Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Speech Therapy for Adults

Helping adults who have suffered a traumatic experience that has affected their ability to communicate fluently is a passion point for SFSS. Gina treats adults recuperating from a stroke, suffering from Dysphagia (feeding and swallowing disorder), Aphasia (loss of ability to understand or express speech, caused by brain damage), and even those looking for accent reduction therapy sessions.

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE EVALUATION

Speech and language evaluations help us measure a person's communication skills. It is done to find out if a patient has communication challenges. This evaluation allows us to gather information needed by asking questions about the patient and testing them to better assess their speech and language level. We then design the best personalized treatment to achieve their speech goals. Schedule an appointment.

CEREBRAL PALSY SPEECH THERAPY

Cerebral palsy can affect a person's ability to finely coordinate the muscles around the mouth and tongue that are needed for speech. The coordinated breathing that is needed to support speech can also be affected, making some people sound 'breathy' when they speak. People with severe cerebral palsy may also have difficulties with swallowing and breathing. Contact us with your questions. We are here to help.

Complimentary Screenings

One of Gina’s goals when opening her business in 2008 was to offer complimentary screenings to everyone, regardless of their financial well-being. She believes every child and adult deserves the right to know if they need professional help to achieve their full potential. Gina screens and even offers insurance advice to those who need it. Book your free screening today by emailing us at info@southflspeech.com.

ONLINE SPEECH THERAPY

Also known as telepractice, teletherapy, and virtual speech therapy - has allowed Gina to take her practice online in order to keep her patients safe during the Covid-19 global pandemic. This form of therapy has proven to eliminate transportation concerns and improve attendance. Telepractice has proven to be just as good and in some cases even better than in-person treatment. Curious? Contact us with your questions.
